Dodgers win three events

NEVADA — The Fort Dodge boys came away with three first place finishes at the Nevada Cub Relays on Tuesday night.

Tyler Schreier earned gold in the 100-meter dash.

The quartet of Christian Davidson, Jake Erickson, Sam Daniel and Schreier won the 4×100 (44.28) and the 4×200 (1:32.70).

“Tyler and the 4×200 both dropped their times,” said Fort Dodge head coach John McBride. “We dropped our time in the distance medley also.

“For the (cold and windy) conditions (wind chills below 30 degrees), we ran well. Sawyer (Springer) and Jon (Astor) had a good night throwing.”

The sprint medley took second in 1:41.52. Springer earned a silver medal in the shot put. Astor was third in the discus (126-03.5)

Jerry Chada (800) and Fort Dodge’s 4×400 relay finished fourth.

Fort Dodge is back in action on Thursday at the Marshalltown Invitational.
