Street Outlaws invade Humboldt

HUMBOLDT — Fans of the Discovery Channel’s hit television show Street Outlaws will get a chance to meet a pair of the shows stars on Saturday.

The television show depicts street racing in Oklahoma and drivers Jeff Lutz and Ryan Martin will hit the track at the North Iowa Dragway.

Gates will open at 10 a.m. as Lutz will try to set a new track speed record and will also hold a meet and greet.

Lutz builds and races hotrods. He also owns Lutz Race Cars based in Pennsylvania.

“On Father’s Day, Jeff called me and said he was looking for a track up north,” said Dragway manager James Barhite. “He said mine was the one that came up on Google and he was interested in coming up.”

Martin, who drives the Fireball Camaro on the program will also be in attendance. Martin is co-owner of B&R Performance in Oklahoma City.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for this little track,” Barhite said. “Back in the early days this track seen some of the NHRA guys.

“Jeff and Ryan are just like those guys, who like to race and work on cars.”
