The Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota Webster County golf tournament is now in its second year of extending the field beyond city limits.

All residents who live or work in Webster County are eligible to participate for the second consecutive summer, which attracts talent not only from Fort Dodge, but surrounding communities like Gowrie, Badger, Barnum, Callender, Dayton, Duncombe, Harcourt, Lehigh, Moorland, Otho, Stratford and Vincent. Expanding the boundaries added more than 10,000 people to the potential pool of players.

Delaney Conrad, then just a sophomore at Southeast Valley High School in Gowrie, took full advantage and won the women’s open division last summer. Conrad, who lives in Gowrie, carded an impressive 71 in the opening round a year ago and has placed in the Top-10 of the state tournament in consecutive seasons.

On-line registration for the July 13 and 14 tournament, sponsored by The Messenger, is set up for all tournament participants this year at https://fdcc-2019citytournament1.golfgenius.com. Click on the “Register Now For 2019 City Tournament” tab on the bottom left-hand side of the page.

The men’s open and senior division fields are asked to visit Lakeside (515-576-6741) with questions, concerns or if help is needed signing up. The women should go to the Country Club (955-8551).

Nearly 8,000 golfers have participated in this event since The Messenger obtained sponsorship in 1980.
