Gaels top Rams on the links

JEFFERSON — The St. Edmond girls golf team scored a victory over Greene County here Monday at the Jefferson Golf Course, 213-241.

Amanda Richman was the runner-up, earning her first honor of the season with a 48 to lead the Gaels.

Rylee Kinney carded a 51, Chloe Lewison a 55 and Hannah Zinnel a 59 for the remaining counting scorers.

“I’m really proud of how the girls played,” SEHS head coach Kelsey Felch said. “We had several girls with their lowest rounds of the season and everyone played well.”

Richman and Zinnel both had career-low rounds on the day.

Kierstin Clark led the SEHS junior varsity with a 61 followed by Alyxis Mericle (66), Riley Nelson (67) and Zoe Rodriguez (73).

The Gaels host Clarion-Goldfield/Dows and Webster City on Tuesday at Lakeside Golf Course.
