MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge boys track team placed third here Monday at the Mohawk Invitational hosted by Mason City.

The Mohawks were crowned team champions with 207 points. Decorah was second with 163 and the Dodgers scored 154.

Fort Dodge captured three individual events and five relays, earning gold and silver in three different events.

Tyler Schreier and Sam Daniel placed first and second in the 100, Brycen Bell and Tysen Kershaw went 1-2 in the 200 and Trey Kasperbauer and Anthony Wagner placed first and second in the 110 hurdles.

Wagner was also the runner-up in the 400 hurdles.

The Dodgers captured the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, shuttle hurdle and sprint medley relay titles.

“It was nice to be out and be competitive and win races,” FDSH head coach John McBride said. “We moved some kids around and everybody enjoyed what they ran despite the tough weather.”

Claiming first place finishes in junior varsity races were Degan Klindt (100), Drew Callon (800), Lucas Williamson (110 hurdles), Tyler Kasperbauer (400 hurdles), Kris Taylor (high jump), the 4×100 relay and sprint medley.

Fort Dodge returns to the track later this week in Des Moines at the Drake Relays.
