Two Webster City wrestlers unbeaten at Kennedy Duals

WEBSTER CITY — Southeast Polk had no trouble flexing its wrestling muscle here Saturday, going a perfect 3-0 to claim the 10th annual Dick Kennedy Duals.

Clear Lake was 2-1, with host Webster City going 1-2. Woodward-Granger rounded out the field at 0-3.

Both Drake Doolittle and Camron Phetxoumphone went 3-0 on the day for WCHS.

The Lynx topped Woodward-Granger, 48-33, dropping duals with the Rams (71-11) and Lions (46-31).

Doolittle, a multi-time state placewinner who is closing in on becoming Webster City’s career leader for wins and pins, earned a first period fall over Woodward-Granger’s Matthew White in 1:50, a 49-second pin of Southeast Polk’s Ayden Kingery and a 32-second fall vs. Conner Morey of Clear Lake.

Phetxoumphone had a 42-second fall vs. Joel Harney of Woodward-Granger, earned a technical fall vs. Kale Anderson of SEP and had a pin in just 35 seconds vs. Gavin Rich of Clear Lake.

Also earning victories vs. W-G were Chase Rattenborg, Nick Gasca, Sean Godfredsen, Carter Bedford, Michael Gilbert and Caleb Olson. Rattenborg, Alex Wolfgram, Gilbert and Olson had wins vs. Clear Lake.

Southeast Polk posted a 56-9 victory over Clear Lake.

The Kennedy Duals are named in honor of former Webster City wrestling coach Dick Kennedy, who passed away in 2006 after a battle with kidney cancer.
