Dodger bowlers sweep Valley

The Fort Dodge bowling teams picked up victories over West Des Moines Valley here Tuesday afternoon at Ridgewood Lanes.

The Dodger boys downed the Tigers, 2979-2600, with the FDSH girls picking up a 2571-2334 triumph.

“I’m happy with the way both teams performed,” Fort Dodge head coach Nick Vinson said. “They’ve been doing a really good job of taking care of business.

“Even when one person in the lineup has trouble, there is someone else there to pick them right up.”

Brady Graves led the Dodger boys (3-2 overall), rolling a 465 series with games of 244 and 221. Jayden Ray added a 397 and Kaleb Anderson a 388.

For the FDSH girls (4-1), Leah Sanck fired a 378 series after games of 190 and 188, with Kat Flores at 344 and Alexis Kenney at 333.

“Our total pins have gone up every match since Urbandale,” Vinson said. “Our boys climbed from 18th to 14th in our class, while the girls now have the sixth-best average.

“The best part is we just continue to get better and improve as a complete team.”

Fort Dodge returns to action next Tuesday at Marshalltown.

Tayzon Preston led the Dodger boys JV to a 2322-1561 victory with a 359 series, while Paige Copenhaver’s 300 pushed the FD girls JV to a 1613-1360 win.
