Wildcats sweep St. Edmond

HUMBOLDT — No. 14 (Class 3A) Humboldt scored a sweep over St. Edmond here Thursday night in North Central Conference action.

Scores were 25-6, 25-10 and 25-14

Mady Lange led the Wildcats with 11 kills and three blocks, with Kendal Clark chipping in nine kills.

Ashlyn Clark and Kyah Arnold each added eight kills, Deni McDaniel had 25 assists, Macy Becker 19 assists and Carlie Thompson 18 digs.

Also for Humboldt (25-2 overall, 5-1 in NCC), Ashlyn Clark had 15 digs.

St. Edmond was led by Devyn Scott, as she had four kills and two blocks. Josie Huss had eight digs and two kills, Macey Mason recorded eight digs with an ace and Kacey Kruthoff had three blocks and a kill.

“We made some changes to our offense and added a few new players,” SEHS head coach Dee Huss said. “I was pleased with the effort of our girls. This team has a lot of potential and we have had some inexperienced players just getting better and better that we felt it was time to test them.”

The Wildcats will put their 10-match win streak on the line this weekend when they play Osage, Central Springs and Mason City at the Mohawk Invitational before heading to Bishop Garrigan on Tuesday.

Humboldt concludes the regular season at home vs. Webster City next Thursday and Greene County on Oct. 17.

St. Edmond hosts Clear Lake next Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
