Iowa Central earns championship at ‘Triton Stampede’

The Iowa Central rodeo program put on a show at the Webster County Fairgrounds this past weekend.

Iowa Central hosted the “Triton Stampede” at Triton Arena, and brought home the team championship.

The Tritons finished with 845 points. Mid Plains, North Platte (Neb.), was second with 540. Dickinson State (North Dakota) was third (510), followed by Black Hills State (Spearfish, S.D.) with 265 and South Dakota State (Brookings, S.D.) with 195.

Iowa Central brought home five championships in all, with Blaine Beaty staking claim to two.

Beaty won the saddle bronc and bull riding.

Nick Pelke (bareback riding) and Dexter Davis (tie down roping) were also winners.

Denton Oestmann tied for first in the long go of team roping and was second overall.

Grant Gansemer tied for thrid and fourth in the long go of steer wrestling and finished in fifth.

Also turning in top performances for ICCC were Pelke (third in bull riding), Vinny Behyshek (fourth in bareback riding), and Judd Grover (5th in team roping, sixth in tie down roping).
