CLEAR LAKE — Jocy Timmerman and Chloe Lewison each had three hits as the St. Edmond softball team scored an 11-4 victory over Clear Lake here Wednesday night.

Lewison added three RBI on the night, with Jacque Oberg finishing 2-for-4 with four runs driven in for the Gaels (8-3 overall, 4-1 in North Central Conference), who have won four consecutive games.

“The middle and bottom of our lineup is really coming up big here for us,” SEHS head coach Nick Clark said. “It’s great to see that balance, which makes us pretty tough when they’re all hitting.

“Every night, someone else is stepping up for us.”

Lewison has now hit safely in each of her last nine games.

“This was a big NCC win for us,” Clark said. “We battled and came out in that second inning really stinging the ball. That carried over into the third and we never looked back.”

Down 3-1, St. Edmond plated four runs in the third and four more in the sixth. Timmerman scored twice, Macey Mason was 3-for-4 with three runs and Kacey Kruthoff drove in two.

Ella Vratny, who had an RBI, earned the win, striking out three inside the circle.

Cambrie McBride, Mason and Rylee Kinney all had a stolen base, with Kinney scoring twice.

The Gaels return to action Thursday night, hosting Alta/Aurelia at Rogers Park beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Alta/Aurelia topped Newell-Fonda last night, 7-5, to improve to 8-0 on the season.
