HAMPTON — The St. Edmond boys tennis team stayed unbeaten on the young season, knocking off Hampton-Dumont 6-3.

The Gaels (2-0 overall) swept the doubles matches and won three singles matches.

Nelson Cook picked up a 10-5 victory at No. 1 singles and Elijah Litwiller was a 10-3 winner at No. 3. Matt Kornder cruised to a 10-2 victory at No 5.

In No. 1 doubles, Cook and Johnson earned a 10-3 victory. Bacon and Rasmussen won 10-7 and Litwiller and Kornder closed out the match with a 10-4 win.

“We were able to get some consistency going and we hit the ball well,” said St. Edmond head coach Megan Averill. “Nelson was steady in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with Gage.

“I was proud of Elijah the way he controlled his singles match. Max was playing his first varsity match and gained some experience.”

The Gaels are back in action on Thursday when they host Carroll at Butler Courts.
