CEDAR RAPIDS — The Iowa Central women’s basketball squad suffered a 93-61 loss to No. 12 (NJCAA Div. II) North Iowa Area Community College in the Region XI semifinals here on Saturday.

The Tritons (17-15 overall) couldn’t slow down the high-powered Trojans (26-6), who scored 58 first-half points and never looked back. NIACC, which averages just under 95 points per game, hit 19 three-point baskets and had four players reach double figures.

North Union graduate Sarah Rolling paced Iowa Central with 12 points and six rebounds, while Mardaeja Cross added 11 points and seven boards. The Tritons, who had rallied past Iowa Lakes earlier in the week to advance, struggled from the floor, shooting only 39 percent as a team.

Kelsie Willert and Mikayla Homola finished with 14 points each for the Trojans. Adria Stewart contributed 12 and UU Longs 11.
