Dodger girls win at the lanes

The Fort Dodge girls bowling team improved to 5-1 with a victory over Marshalltown here Tuesday at Ridgewood Lanes.

Leah Sanck led the Dodgers with a 415 total, bowling games of 180 and 235. Fort Dodge finished with 2,623 to Marshalltown’s 2,396.

Lexi Hemann had a 350, with Lauren Hade (329), Bethany Armbruster (325) and Katie Flores (325) right behind her.

“Those girls are really coming along,” FDSH head coach Don Ervin said. “Some of them couldn’t break 150 early in the season and now they are shooting in the 200s.

“Both Leah and Lexi are really strong days.”

The Bobcats claimed the boys match over the Dodgers, 3,212-2,963. Jared Jacobson paced Fort Dodge with a 510 series, rolling games of 244 and 266.

“Marshalltown is a tough Class 3A team,” Ervin said. “Jared really is bowling well right now and Kaleb (Anderson) is coming along too. The rest of the guys are getting up there and our overall team score is improving each week.”

Anderson had a 455, with Ethan Graves (395), Nate Stanley (369), Tre Preston (342) and Boston Gordon (260) following.
