Triton men prevail; women edged

Henrique Devins scored twice to lead the Iowa Central men’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Iowa Lakes here Wednesday evening at Rogers Sports Complex.

Anthony Velez allowed just the one goal in net for the Tritons, who are now 10-2 overall and 4-2 in the ICCAC. The Lakers fall to 9-6 overall and 3-4 in the league.

Iowa Central has won four in a row and five of its last six. They travel to Ottumwa Saturday to face Indian Hills.

The Iowa Central women’s soccer team, meanwhile, dropped a 3-2 decision to Iowa Lakes.

With the win, the Lakers are now 5-6-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference, with the Tritons falling to 8-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the league.

The loss snapped a six-match win streak for Iowa Central. Next action for the Tritons is Saturday at Indian Hills.
