Dick Tighe, the state’s all-time leader for wins, will hold two events this week to introduce the official release of his book, “Coach Tighe: 63 Years of High School Football.”

The first signing is set for Wednesday at Decker Sporting Goods in Fort Dodge from 5-6 p.m., with the second on Thursday in Webster City at the Kendall Young Library at 6 p.m.

The book, which is $20, will be available for purchase at both locations.

Tighe retired last year with 432 coaching victories over 63 seasons of coaching. He guided St. Edmond to the 2013 state finals and a spot in the semifinals the following year.

Over Tighe’s 15 seasons with the Gaels, he won 108 games. He was also 220-73-4 in 31 years at Webster City.

Tighe’s 63 years in coaching is tied for most in the nation with former South Carolina head coach John McKissick. At the time of his retirement, Tighe ranked sixth on the national wins leaderboard.
