Estlund 10th for Fort Dodge girls

STORM LAKE — LeMars swept the team titles here Tuesday at the Storm Lake Invitational.

Fort Dodge had an eighth place team finish on the girls side led by Gabby Estlund’s 10th. The Dodgers were ninth in the boys team standings.

Estlund had a time of 21:29.55, with Isabel Gruver finishing 22nd in 22:17.35.

“Gabby had a really nice race,” FDSH head coach Joe Jackson said. “Overall, the kids ran really well after competing this past Thursday. We didn’t have a lot of recovery time, but I was happy with how they competed.”

Alexis Read was 50th, Olivia Mitchell 56th and Piera McBride 63rd.

Hailey Schmidt led Algona, finishing 15th in 21:56.76. For East Sac County, Francesca Barbieri placed 54th. The Bulldogs were fifth overall.

Eric Crawford at the top finish for the Dodger boys, placing 19th overall in 18:32.25. Jonathon Madden earned 37th, Joshua Meier was 53rd overall, Jonathan Brandt 54th, Nathaniel Madden finished 56th and Dylan Bethke 70th.

“Eric had a nice race,” Jackson said. “We had a lot of good times from the kids.”

Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Zach Ortloff, who finished 16th in 18:26.51. Fernando Vaca was the top finisher for the Raiders in 45th. Algona was seventh overall and East Sac County 12th.

Fort Dodge returns to action Monday at the Humboldt Invitational.
