MASON CITY — After a tough weekend, the Fort Dodge volleyball team jumped back into the win column here on Tuesday.

The Dodgers swept Mason City by scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-14 in CIML Iowa Conference action.

“When things are on, we play well and everything was defintely rolling,” said FDSH head coach Tonia Burrell. “We made minimal errors and the kids came out aggressive. They were hitting the ball and diving for balls.

“We played the way we should be playing.”

Beth Murman led the Dodgers in kills with 15. Kacee Gollob added 10 kills, and Brooke Erickson had three.

Murman and Tehya Miller had four blocks each. Kaden Pederson was perfect serving.

Kathryn Cochrane was 13 of 14 with four aces serving.

Josie Shirbroun had 11 assists, and Cochrane tallied seven.

Cochrane registered 11 digs, while Murman had 10 and Pederson seven.

“Beth played really well,” Burrell said. “We stepped up and got better every game. We did well on second-chance points and giving ourselves better opportunties to keep the ball in play.”

The Dodger freshman A team won, 31-29 and 25-10. The B team prevailed, 25-23 and 25-7.

The junior varsity lost 28-26, 17-21 and 15-9.

The Dodgers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Urbandale.
