Titans sweep at Southeast Valley

GOWRIE — The South Central Calhoun boys and girls swept through the Southeast Valley Relays here on Tuesday.

The Titan boys had 157 points, with the host Jaguars placing second at 116. The SCC girls racked up 172 points, finishing well ahead of Ogden (101) and Southeast Valley (97).

The Titan boys won six events. Colton Bahr (high jump, 6-2) and Chase McAlister (800, 2:05.06) were individual champs, along with the shuttle hurdle relay (1:06.58), the sprint medley relay (1:40.67), the 4×100 (46.20) and the 4×400 (3:40.03).

Jaguar Nyles Johnson was a double winner in the 200 (23.83) and 400 (53.39). SEV’s Kyler Fisher took the 100 (11.95).

On the girls side, Allison Birks of SCC earned gold in the 100 (12.96) and 200 (27.01). Titan Sydney Batz was also a two-time champ in the 400 (1:03.34) and 400 hurdles (1:13.71).

The South Central Calhoun 4×100 (52.42), 4×200 (1:51.32), 4×800 (11:00.43), sprint medley (2:01.43) and distance medley (4:52.60) were all crowned in the girls’ competition. Kaylynn Ridgely (15-2) won the long jump.

Jaiden Ackerson of SEV was first in both the shot put (36-11.75) and discus (104-0). Karissa Hiesterman took the 100 hurdles (19.18) for the Jags.
