Mason City keeps FD girls in slump
MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge girls couldn’t withstand a strong second half from Mason City on Friday night, as they dropped a 59-37 decision.
The Dodgers (6-9 overall, 3-5 CIML Iowa) trailed 23-12 at halftime, but the Mohawks (6-10, 3-5) outscored the Dodgers 25-17 in the third quarter to take a 48-29 lead heading into the final frame.
Megan Meyer gave the Dodgers fits, scoring 20 points. Anna Deets also reached double figures with 13 points.
Junior Shareece Smith had a strong night for the Dodgers, scoring 18 points, including a three-point basket.
Shariah Smith added eight and Justice Crooks had seven for the Dodgers.
Fort Dodge is back in action on Monday night when they host Des Moines North at 7:45 p.m.
