CARROLL – The St. Edmond softball team dropped both of its game at the CYO Tournament here Saturday.

The Gaels (1-8 overall) fell to Sioux City Heelan (10-0) and Remsen St. Mary’s (14-1).

Sydney Nelson’s RBI double plated Hannah Zinnel with the lone SEHS run on the day. Zinnel previously reached on a two-bagger of her own.

“I was really happy with how the younger girls stepped up,” said St. Edmond head coach Katie Donnelly. “We made solid contact, but we hit the ball right at them. We’re excited to play every night this week.”

Next action for the Gaels is Monday at Clarion-Goldfield/Dows.
