Webster City bounces back

PERRY — The Webster City football team rebounded from a loss to top-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes last week, topping Perry here on Friday night in the middle of rainy conditions, 42-7.

Dylan Steen and Carter Bedford each surpassed 100 yards rushing, as the Lynx (6-1 overall, 4-1 in district) finished with 401 yards on 68 carries.

Steen had 177 and three touchdowns, scoring from 31 yards out once and four yards out twice. He had 21 carries, with Bedford recording 22 attempts for 120 yards and three TDs.

Caleb Olson had six tackles for Webster City, which held Perry to 71 yards of total offense, including negative yards on the ground.

The Lynx host Iowa Falls-Alden next Friday night before closing out at Boone in Week 9.
