New homes continue to be built in the Morningside Drive addition on the southeast side of Eagle Grove.

WRIGHT COUNTY — In Eagle Grove, old housing is coming down and new housing is going up, according to Bryce Davis, Eagle Grove city administrator.

In particular, seven new houses have been built in the Morningside Drive addition on the east side of the city, Davis said.

He said 24 residential units were built using the city’s Commercial Construction Incentive Program. The city began that program in 2017.

On the northeast side of that community, 148 acres of land could be acquired in the coming year, according to Davis. That land could be transformed into dozens of houses and apartments.

In Clarion, four houses were recently added to the White Fox Landing housing development, according to Jordan Cook, city administrator. The city is also hoping to develop an area on the northeast edge of town that could be used for apartments.

About five new houses could be added in Goldfield near School Street and Webster Street.
