Spring Cleanup Days will be held the last two Wednesdays of April and the first two Wednesdays of May, according to the following schedule:
April 23 - North of Second Avenue North and East of 15th Street, including Orchard Glen, Rolling Hills and 170th Street. (Monday normal refuse route).
April 30 -South of Second Avenue North and East of 15th Street. (Tuesday normal refuse route).
May 7 - North of 4th Avenue North and West of 15th Street. (Thursday normal refuse route).
May 14 -South of 4th Avenue North and West of 15th Street, including Pleasant Valley Area. (Friday normal refuse route).
Items to be picked up must be placed at curbside not more than 24 hours before and/or prior to 6 a.m on the day of the cleanup. There will be no alley pickup.
The city will not pickup the following and residents are responsible to properly dispose of this material:
Tires, vehicle batteries.
Liquid waste such as paint, varnish, motor oil, etc.
Major appliances such as televisions, computers, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, water softeners, washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, air conditioners, humidifiers and dehumidifiers. Contact the Recycling Center (955-2781) for the disposal of televisions, computers or other electronic equipment; a $15 fee will apply. Contact a local salvage yard for the disposal of appliances. There may be a disposal fee.
All loose items must be boxed or sacked.
Swing sets and clothesline poles must be disassembled with no concrete attached to the poles.
Will not pick up any non-residential premises.
No lumber or drywall from torn down buildings or remodeling material of any type.
Recycling will be picked up per the normal schedule. The cart should be set away from cleanup items. Yard waste will be picked up after the cleanup is finished. Yard waste should not be mingled with cleanup items. Yard waste must be in brown, disposable, biodegradable bags with stickers attached.
