No. 1 Mustangs win again

NEWELL - The top-ranked (Class 1A) Newell-Fonda girls had no trouble with Southeast Webster-Grand Friday night, cruising to a 75-35 victory.

Jordan Wilken sparked the balanced attack for the Mustangs (14-1 overall, 6-0 in the Twin Lakes Conference) with 14 points.

Renee Maneman (13) and Taiyler Schrank (12) were next in line offensively for Newell-Fonda, which jumped out to a 27-0 advantage after the first quarter.

For the Eagles (5-11), Jossie Ferrari tallied 12 points.

Humboldt cruises to home triumph

HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt girls pounded Eagle Grove by a 79-36 final Friday night.

Lauren Friesth tallied 19 points for the Wildcats (7-7 overall, 7-5 in the North Central Conference).

Avery Terwilliger (17) and Kessa Kuyper (14) each scored in double figures as well for Humboldt.

For the Eagles (2-14, 1-13), Megan Crail led the way with 10 points.

Cowgirls handle Webster City

CLARION - The Clarion-Goldfield girls picked up a 63-39 victory over Webster City here Friday night.

Jenalee Hinkle led the Cowgirls with 18 points, while Jossie Sann added 14 and 17 rebounds.

For the Lynx, Cassidy Bultena scored nine.
