The opening concert of the Fort Dodge Area Symphony's 64th season will be at 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the St. Edmond High School Auditorium, 2220 Fourth Ave. N., under the direction of the new conductor, Joshua Barlage. Admission is by season tickets or for $10 each for adults and $6 each for students. Season memberships will be available at the door.

The music opens with Verdi's "Nabuccao," 1942. This opera was so popular that after its first five performances it was scheduled for 57 more. The concert also includes music from Bizet's "Carmen," and the waltz and polonaise from Verdi's "Eugene Onegin."

The concert closes with the "Triumphal March" from Verdi's "Aida."

Subsequent concerts will be held at the Fort Dodge Middle School auditorium.
