Iowa State University Extension in Webster County is hosting a meeting from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday to address recent weather conditions and its effects on planting dates.
Mark Johnson, an ISU Extension agronomist, will provide current research-based data for farmers who have already planted corn.
This program will be live at the Webster County Extension office, 217 S. 25th St., Suite C12.
The program will also be available to view as a webinar in Humboldt, Hamilton, Wright and Calhoun County Extension offices. Contact a local Extension office for more details.
Topics to be covered include planting dates, cold temperature impacts, wet soil compaction, not the time to switch hybrids, nitrogen issues and evaluation of alfalfa stands.
Those planning to attend the live discussion in Fort Dodge, or remotely from the other four counties may send in questions ahead of the event to Mary Jo Wagner, Webster County Extension program coordinator, at email@example.com.
Questions provided will be addressed during Johnson's presentation.
