To the editor:
I saw a letter in ... from the McColleys. I am going to guess from the content that they are elderly based on a comment about their friends. God bless them for their support of the zoo over these many years as they have been around to see the good years and that's what they remember.
Sadly though, this is not the case anymore and the person they referred to in their letter is not only a good person, she is a community standout for the Alzheimer's Association. What she is doing for the zoo is a good thing. In this day and age of tough economical times the zoo is not getting the support it needs to maintain day to day operations much less expand to more "exotic" animals.
The zoo has been mismanaged, is dirty and unkept, and needs to be cleaned out and reorganized. This situation has been improving due to this woman's efforts and if they keep it up, it is a good thing.
I don't want to hear anymore about this "bad" woman because it just is not true. Thanks.
