Prairie Valley state speech contest results

The Prairie Valley High School Speech Team qualified four members for the state individual speech contest on March 9 at Algona High School. Participants who advanced to state contest earned a "I" rating at district contest Feb. 23 at Bishop Garrigan High School.

Participants earning a "I" rating at districts were: Zane Barber, literary program; Nick Dosland, radio news; Rebecca Nellis, interpretation of prose and storytelling; Kate Dyer, interpretation of poetry.

Earning "I" ratings at state were Rebecca Nellis, Nick Dosland and Kate Dyer. Zane Barber received a "II" rating.

Participating in district contest and earning "II" ratings were Bre Anderson, public address; Nick Dosland, improvisational acting; Andrew Gibbs, radio news and poetry; Jerry Johnson, improvisational acting and radio news; Raeann Hanlon, expository address; Hannah Pederson, expository address; Keygan Barber, storytelling; Hannah Peterson, radio news.
