Trinity Hospice will offer "Stepping Stones of Grief," a four-part grief support group beginning on April 4 and continuing April 11, 18 and 25, for individuals experiencing grief through the death of a loved one.
Trinity Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual care for end-of-life patients and their families in their place of residence, including their homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
"Mourning is a crucial part of the grieving process," said Nicole Hoag, a bereavement coordinator at Trinity Hospice. "Our program encourages participants to talk about their loss and grief, so they can begin to make sense of their emotions."
While sessions are free and open to the public, they are limited to 12 people each to encourage small group discussion and the opportunity to deal constructively with feelings and practical problems resulting from loss. Presentations on a variety of grief issues will also be offered. To receive the maximum benefit from this support group, participants are asked to make a commitment to attend all four sessions.
Two groups are available, in the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m., and in the evening from 6 to 8 p.m. All sessions will take place at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, 2630 Ninth Ave. S.
Registration is required. Contact Nicole Hoag, 574-6639, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org by today. For more information about Trinity Hospice, call 574-6416.
