The LESS is MORE wellness series continues at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven, 420 Kenyon Road.
The focus will be spiritual wellness. This free educational series is intended to explore each of the six dimensions of health in depth and to help seniors explore and embrace healthy aging. The programs are free and open to the public with no reservations required.
Of the six dimensions of health, spiritual wellness often seems to be the most misunderstood; spiritual wellness encompasses one's ethics, values, and code of living and allows one to learn how to experience love and fulfillment.
Sister Trudy Keefe, Trinity Regional Medical Center chaplain, will present, "A Life Filled with Devotion." Sister Trudy became a Sister of Mercy in 1950 and taught school until 1980. After further studies she became a certified chaplain in 1982. Since then she has ministered to the ill in Wisconsin, South Dakota and Fort Dodge. She recently celebrated her 80th birthday.
The series is a cooperative endeavor between Elderbridge Agency on Aging, Foster Grandparent Program, Friendship Haven, Iowa Central Community College, Iowa State University Extension, and Trinity Healthy Living - Health Partners at TRMC. For additional information, contact any of the sponsors.
Any program in the series may be cancelled due to inclement weather. If the schools are closed, or close early due to the weather, the program will be cancelled and rescheduled.
