SPORTS: Mike McNeal, of Fort Dodge, was named "Joe Bowler" and choasen to throw the first ball at the 2003 Men's iowa State Bowling Association tournament in Fort Dodge.

SPORTS: Chrissy Flaherty's three-point basket with three seconds remaining lifted the St. Edmond freshman girls to a 39-36 overtime victory over Jefferson.

NEWS: Gerald B. Whittemore, of the Vincent Clay Products Co. of Fort Dodge, was elected president of Region 6 of the Structural Clay Products Institute.
