Fell, Widestrom retire from Decker

Joseph Fell and Karen Widestrom, longtime employees at Decker Truck Line Inc., have retired.

Fell began his employment with Decker in May 1970 as a driver. He left to attend college at Wayne State and returned to Decker in May 1972 with a bachelor of science degree and resumed driving. He became a dispatcher in the flatbed division in 1979 and later helped organize the West Coast or reefer/van division. In the mid-1990s, he became director of the division, which led to his position as vice president of operations. In 2007, he became senior vice president in the administration department.

Fell and wife Jean are the parents of three: Megan Fell, Julie Albrecht and Chris Cloud.

Widestrom retired Dec. 27, 2012, She began working for Umthun Trucking in 1976 where she remained for 26 years, doing dispatching and working in management positions. For the past 11 years, she has been at Decker in customer service and dispatched more than 50 loads per day.

She and husband Bill have been married for 46 years. She has three daughters and six grandchildren.
