Barnum - Friday, 1 p.m., Veterans Day program at Manson Northwest Webster Elementary School.
Dakota City and Humboldt - Sunday, 11 a.m., VFW Post 5240 will hold a ceremony outside the Humboldt County Courthouse with a meal to follow at the VFW Post. The speaker will be Carolyn Ford. There will be entertainment by a barbershop quartet.
Fort Dodge - Sunday, 10:15 a.m., a Veterans Day ceremony, including music, will be held at St. Edmond High School. The VFW will be serving bean soup and corn bread after the ceremony at the VFW Post 1856, located at the corner of Fifth Avenue South and South 29th Street.
Lake City- Monday, 10 a.m., Veterans Day program and salute at Shady Oaks Care Center. The speaker will be state Sen. Daryl Beall, D-Fort Dodge.
Manson - Friday, 11 a.m., there will be a Veterans Day program at Manson Northwest Webster High School.
Stratford - Sunday, 10 a.m., there will be a Community Polka Worship Service at the Stratford Community School followed by a recognition of military veterans. A harvest turkey dinner will follow with a freewill donation. Proceeds from the meal will go to the Rev. Gina Spohnheimer and her husband, who is recovering from critical injuries sustained from a fall.
Webster City - Sunday, 10:40 a.m., there will be a Veterans Day ceremony outside the Webster City Middle School on the Boulevard of Valor; from 1 to 4 p.m., a military exhibit will be on display at the Depot Museum at Wilson Brewer Historic Park.
