To the editor:
Becky Perkovich is running for the newly drawn Iowa House District 48, which includes Otho, Coalville, Lehigh, Burnside, Dayton, parts of Boone County and all of Hamilton County.
You may not have heard much about her because Fort Dodge is not in her district; most of the media coverage is coming out of Webster City. That is why I am writing this - you should know about Becky Perkovich.
This woman is amazing.
She has been campaigning tirelessly, traveling extensively throughout the district to all the small-town events she can find. She listens, and is eager to learn about the issues that are important to us. She is enthusiastic and positive, and she wants nothing more than to ensure our interests are well-represented at the state level.
Becky has a long history of serving the community. She has been involved in a wide range of volunteer activities, and has received numerous awards for her achievements in community leadership. Notably, in 2010 she was honored by the Ames Chamber's YPA (Young Professionals of Ames) with a "4 Under 40" Award for her efforts in community betterment.
The hard work, dedication, and contagious enthusiasm she has shown not only in her campaign efforts, but also through her community involvement, makes me confident that Becky Perkovich is the right person for the job.
I picked Perkovich on my ballot. If you live in House District 48, I urge you to do so too.
