Keep 911 on the job

One of the least controversial measures up for a vote in Webster County on Tuesday is a request for voter approval to increase by 25 cents per month a surcharge on every phone line in the county. This would bring the monthly surcharge to $1. The funds generated from this fee will support the operation and continued improvement of the 911 system, so vital to us all in times of emergency.

To ensure that Webster County has a 911 emergency response system that is technologically up-to-date, it is important that this request by the 911 board for an increase be supported. Making certain that our county's 911 capabilities are fully state-of-the art is an investment in the safety of everyone who lives or travels here.

Don't leave the voting booth without casting a "yes" vote to keep 911 on the job.
