Photowalk photographers focus on downtown

Thirty-two photographers took part in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk in Fort Dodge on Oct. 13. Participants took an hour to capture the best angles and the most strikings shots along Central Avenue between Daniel's Pharmacy and the Public Library.

They liked it so much, some decided to walk again the next day.

Only photos taken on Oct. 13 are eligible to win prizes from Scott Kelby's organization, but few seemed to care, said local walk organizer Roger Feldhans.

"They were just interested in the walk. After the Saturday walk people were already asking me when we were going to do it again," Feldhans said.

The 12 photographers who attended the second walk included some who couldn't make it to the first, but also those who returned a second time to revisit specific spots.

The Fort Dodge Camera Club gained six new members from the event, Feldhans said.

Feldhans will be involved in judging the photos which will go on to the next level in the Scott Kelby competition. Participants have until Monday to upload their photos to
