LEHIGH - Two new cabins designed for year-round use will be built next year at Brushy Creek State Recreation Area.
They will be located in the park's non-equine cabin area, according to Kevin Baskins, a spokesman for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. He said the utilities needed to serve the cabins are already in place.
Each cabin will have one bedroom. Baskins said the cost of constructing them has been estimated at $335,000.
The Department of Natural Resources is scheduled to award a contract for the new cabins in February 2013. They are to be completed by June 1, 2013.
