To the editor,

One last letter this year, but it will be an important one to let people know there will be another year of the Hillside Spectacular of Christmas Lights for the 33rd year. But next year there will be no promise. I’m 89 on March 2 and failing in health somewhat, or the hill is getting too steep to climb.

So the Spectacular will begin on Thanksgiving Eve, and the sleigh rides also begin today and run through Jan. 2. For the thousands of people young and old that have been coming for all these years, thank you all, and the Fort Dodge Messenger for printing all of my letters to the editor.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. Same location, just 2,476 miles south of the North Pole.
