St. Edmond Ball is May 6

To the editor:

While fundraisers are a common occurrence in Fort Dodge, the St. Edmond Ball has been providing enthusiastic fun for 34 years supporting Catholic education. This year’s ball is shaping up to be a fantastic event that will cater to young and old alike. Saturday evening May 6 at the Starlite Village is the place to be, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the fun going until midnight.

For entertainment, we have the Bluewater Kings Band, a six-piece premium band, that performs in the Midwest, specializing in high-energy “cooler-than-average” music.

New this year is an online auction: www.biddingforgood.com/SEBall. You don’t have to attend the ball to bid on these items; but your attendance will certainly enhance the fun that is to be had on the evening of May 6 at the Starlite Village. As an example, this Ball has motivated Neven Mulholland to offer up his four incredible seats for a game of the outstanding Creighton men’s basketball team for next season, along with many other impressive and worthwhile items

The live auction will not disappoint you either, with trips, tires and tickets (two tickets to Hamilton coming to Des Moines) highlighting that segment of the ball. The live auction items are available for viewing at the ball or on the school’s website. Tickets to the ball are available at the school’s Development Office or by contacting the chairs of the ball.

While certainly the ball is a worthwhile event to attend, the fun doesn’t end there. There will be a golf outing at the Fort Dodge Country Club on Friday May 5, complete with prizes, camaraderie and fun.

All of the participants, donors and volunteers make this ball a tremendous success.

Hope to see you at the ball.
