To the editor,

As a father of two sons who have attended Iowa Central Community College and a supporter of strong athletics and fine arts, I am writing in support of the Iowa Central Community College’s $29.5 million dollar bond issue election on Dec. 6, to improve its facilities across all nine counties it serves.

I like the fact they are focusing on improving campus security, upgrading existing infrastructure, renovating Decker Auditorium with new lighting and related support infrastructure, constructing two new career academies serving the southwest and western part of the college region and a student success center. All of these investments will add value to the teaching and training environment and help our regional economy create the workforce needed.

The college is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Let’s help invest so they continue to educate and train for another 50 years. Please join me in voting YES on Dec. 6.
