A message of thanks

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the The Messenger who played any role in getting me an autographed baseball bat from the Pittsburgh Pirates’ manager, Clint Hurdle, and a hand-written letter from their owner, Bob Nutting, who also owns The Messenger. I’d especially like to extend my gratitude to The Messenger’s publisher, Larry Bushman. This gift was truly one of the neatest, and most unexpected, moments of my life. Thank you for this kind act in welcoming me to Fort Dodge.

A message of thanks

To the editor:

A huge “thank you” to every one who helped us with our fund raiser that was held on Aug. 27. A special thanks goes to Corey Lombard for the use of Rides Convention Hall, the band that provided great music – The Midwest Revue, Donavan and Lin Adson for the great job auctioning all the baskets that were donated by many of our businesses, Jack Mallaro, for printing all the flyers and to the DART bus.

We realize that monies assigned for the charities have been already been given for the year 2016. We are asking now for all companies to put Webster County Museum on your list for 2017. We are asking all organizations to keep us on your list also. It is such a learning experience to see all the items on display and where they came from. It’s a great learning experience for our school children. We are trying hard to keep the museum open so please help us.

We are still looking for a building in the city of Fort Dodge. All financial help large or small will be appreciated. Donations can be sent to 515 School St, Otho, IA 50569.

Submitted on behalf of the Webster County Museum board of directors.
