Unite to Fight event is Saturday

To the editor:

The Fort Dodge Noon Sertoma Backpack Buddies program is preparing for our seventh year of providing weekend food for school age children. Last year, 23,750 bags of food weighing over 100,000 pounds were delivered to nine schools in the community. We want to thank White Transfer and Storage, the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, the Lifer Group and Leslie Wagers for their assistance in making this program work. Our annual budget is approaching $100,000 and thanks to our partnership with NEW Cooperative Foundation and other community sponsors we are able to continue this needed program another year. On Saturday, Aug. 27, our third annual Unite to Fight fundraiser will be held at Fort Frenzy featuring Tonic Sol Fa. You won’t want to miss this exciting group. Tickets are available from any Noon Sertoma member or by calling 955-6720.
