Opposes parking meters

To the editor:

I would like to be on record of not supporting more parking meters – especially in the area of Daniel Pharmacy. We do not have a parking problem in our area. Using the meter maids/parking enforcement personnel for monitoring vehicles that have overstayed the time limit seems to be a more economical way of controlling parking. Many of our customers are retired and on fixed incomes. They do not take all of their prescriptions because of their tight budgets. Adding meter charges would add to their health care costs. When the streets are full of cars, sidewalks are full of people, and the stores are full of customers – that is the time to consider meters. For over 53 years we have tried to provide quality, convenience and service for our customers and we hope to continue for a long time.
