Stay-A-Breast event succeeds

To the editor:

On Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to noon the FDSH pool was full of swimmers swimming laps for the third annual Stay A-Breast breast cancer fundraiser. What began as a 4-H citizenship project three years ago, continues to help those suffering from breast cancer and help find a cure.

This year’s event raised $12,039 with checks for $6,019.50 each being presented to the American Cancer Society and the Trinity Cancer Center. Feel free to see event photos on our Stay A-Breast Facebook page. This was a success because of the generosity of many people who helped promote it, buy a T-shirt, made a donation, volunteered or swam that day.

I appreciate and thank each of you who have helped me with my project in any way this year including my family and friends, Hans Madsen, Hailey Brueschke, Josh Meyer,Brit Kudla and The Messenger, Linda Cline, the Douglas Dreamers 4-H Club and Webster County 4-H, Matt Ellsbecker, Tom Ruge and Matt McCormack and FDSH, lifeguards Iris Peimann and Riley Helmers, Fort Dodge Swim Club, ACAC, Mike Devine, Kent Keith, Trinity Cancer Center staff, Geoff Engels, Humboldt County Hospital EMTs Jordan, Kevin and Tony, Nick Uhlenhopp, Neil Molitor and ISU football players Brian Bonacci, Colin Downing, Reggan Northrup, Orion Salters, Cliff Fernandez, D’Andre Payne, Jason Bowman, Julian Good Jones, Dom De Lira, Jordan Wallace, Josh Coleman, and Mike Warren, Allison Peterson, Carrie Jo Pearson, Liddy Hora and Webster County Relay For Life, Fort Dodge CVB, Dennis Plautz and The Growth Alliance, members of the Fighting Angels Abreast, Lynda Lowery and Save The TaTa’s, Fort Dodge Ford, Salon and Company, UnityPoint General Surgery, Sports Page Bar and Grill, Ackerman Investments, Clean All, Riley Armstrong Plumbing, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Creative Cakes and Northwest Bank.
