To the editor:

I urge you to vote for Bob Thode for Webster County supervisor representing District 3.

As a lifelong Webster County resident, Bob is in tune with the wants and needs of its people. He is a staunch advocate for ensuring public safety, creating jobs and maintaining quality of life. He supports the cooperative dialog with municipal and county leaders that has helped our region turn the corner and progress.

As a longtime public servant, Thode has proved to be an independent thinker, always approaching issues with an open mind and putting his constituents first. In his decades of public service, he has become known for his straightforward approach to problem solving.

As a longtime administrator, Bob values sound economic policy. During Bob’s tenure on the department, the city wreathed the recession with stable budgets that were adhered to. Bob takes his responsibility to his constituents seriously. He researches issues, seeks input and acts in the best interests of people as a whole, not himself or his friends. He will do the same as a county supervisor. His campaign is grassroots, relying on volunteers and not “special interests.” I have known Bob and his family a long time, and he has always been a man of integrity who is committed to his community. In this slate of candidates, Bob Thode stands out.
