Appreciates cleanup efforts
To the editor:
To all the volunteers who gave of their time on City Spring Cleanup Day – a big thanks. Your efforts helped get our city ready for RAGBRAI but did not last in certain areas. Along Second Avenue North, behind Walmart, litter and debris were back before the event.
A special thanks to Al Ekanger who, by himself a few days before RAGBRAI, had the ditches clean, bags filled and hauled away. When I stopped to thank him, his comment was that he wanted it to look nice for the bicyclists. If we all take that extra step, we’ll continue to make a positive difference.
