Spend time at Farm News Ag Show

There’s much to see and learn and some good food as well

Make plans to spend some time at the annual Farm News Ag Show. It will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Palo Alto County Fairgrounds, 2101 Madison St., Emmetsburg.

The show will appeal to those with even a casual interest in agriculture, but for those who want more in-depth information, it will showcase a wide array of agricultural products and services. There will be much on the show floor and in the outdoor displays to expand attendees’ knowledge of options available today as well what’s on the drawing boards for tomorrow.

Food for thought is at the core of a successful exhibition. With that in mind, here are the speakers the show will feature:

• David Kruse, president of CommStock Investments and author of the CommStock Report, will speak at 8:30 a.m. on “A perfect storm is blowing up a wind to the fam economy’s back.”

• Jerry Nelson, Farm News columnist, will speak at 10:30 a.m. on “Dear county agent guy: The saga of an accidental writer.”

• Dan Bjorklund, seed team leader with MaxYield Coop, will speak at 1 p.m. on ”Is 300 bushels per acre average possible/”‘

• Rick Friday, Farm News cartoonist, will speak at 3 p.m. on “A farm life, a farm wife and the long walk home.”

Friday will also have a booth where he will be creating art and signing autographs.

Intellectual stimulation will be complemented with an assortment of good food. Food trucks from Girl’d Cheese and Double M Catering Sandwich Shop will be present.

Admission is free. There will also be plenty of free parking.

The Farm News Ag Show 2021 promises to be a splendid opportunity for education, good conversation, some outstanding food and just plain fun. See you there.
