Obstruction at the State Department

Recently, the State Department set a new standard for dishonest, partisan outrageousness.

In March, the Republican National Committee submitted requests for records involving Clinton and her State Department aides, under the federal open records law. State Department officials – as is their custom when anyone, including the press, requests Clinton-related documents – resisted to the point of going to court. State Department lawyers told a judge complying with the RNC request would take 75 years.

In essence, the RNC request is for years’ worth of email messages to and from Clinton and several former aides.

But 75 years? Stop and think about that for a moment. How many emails do you think you could check and approve for release in a typical lifetime?

At least some officials at the State Department clearly have become an arm of Clinton’s campaign.

By the way, The Associated Press requested some Clinton-related emails, too. State Department officials say that release will be delayed until mid-November – days after the election.

How convenient.
