Paula Laughlin
Paula Marie Laughlin, 73, of Fort Dodge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday Nov. 11th at her home. She spent her final day surrounded by family and numerous lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held at Laufersweiler Funeral Home on Monday, November 17th from 11:00am-1:30 pm, followed by a celebration of life at 1:30pm officiated by Deacon Joe Coleman. Inurnment will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery where she will be put to rest with her late husband, Gary Laughlin. A luncheon will follow at Corpus Parish Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Nicole Trost and Megan Laughlin; grandchildren Keaton Jones, Gianna Jackowell, and Amarion Gully; Sisters Lisa Nielsen of Las Vegas, NV, and Shelley (Jay) Sanford of Des Moines, IA; brothers John (Christy) Nielsen of Fort Dodge and Kurt (DeAnn) Nielsen of Lincoln, NE.
Paula was preceeded in death by her parents Jack and Mary (Augustine) Nielsen; her husband Gary Laughlin; and partner Thomas Richardson.
Paula was born and raised in Fort Dodge. Being the oldest, she was notorious for always reminding her siblings that she was their main caretaker! After returning to Fort Dodge in 1991, she worked for many years at Prairie Lakes AEA and Hy-Vee. Paula will be remembered for her hardworking, outgoing, and giving personality.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
