Beverly Poppinga

Beverly Jane Poppinga, 87, of Manson passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson. A private funeral service will be held with burial at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home — Weishaar Chapel in Manson.

Beverly was born on October 12, 1937, to William and Grace (Peters) Ahlrichs. She spent her childhood and attended school in Palmer, IA. After high school she went on to the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA. Beverly was united in marriage to Darrel Poppinga on February 15, 1958, in Palmer, IA. The couple made their home in Manson and celebrated 62 years of marriage. Beverly enjoyed being a good mother, being outside, helping on church committees, helping on the family farm but most of all, she loved being with Darrel and spending time with her grandchildren.

Beverly is survived by her daughter Belinda (Frank) Green; sons David (Kathy) Poppinga, Gary (Tricia) Poppinga and Danny (Cyndi) Poppinga; grandchildren Scott (Katherine) Wiemers, Shawn (Sarah) Wiemers, Justin Poppinga, Emily Poppinga, Andrea Poppinga, Danielle (Carl) DeWall and Drew Poppinga; great-grandchildren Rosalyn Wiemers, Josie, Presley and Hank DeWall; her sister Mary Ellen O’Connor along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrel; her parents William and Grace Ahlrichs; and her sister Delores Early.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
